A tour for all of your senses….

After the excitement of hopefully seeing dolphins and other marine life on the Classic Dolphin Watch tour, we continue cruising up the coast to stop at the Casa Orchedias. These botanical gardens were founded nearly 30 years ago by American expats Ron and Trudy McAllister and represent their labor of love over the past thirty years. It is a sanctuary for botanists and nature lovers, these gardens are a continuous work in progress and are meticulously maintained by Ron and Trudy. Come wander with our guide the landscaped paths blooming with 100’s of exotic orchids, bromeliads, heliconias, cycads, ornamental and fruit trees, ginger plants, spices, herbs and medicinal plants. Guests have also seen tanagers, hummingbirds, toucans, macaws, various frogs and the other life that make these gardens home.

Did you know you can use a shampoo plant to wash with, that you can get a pickle from a tree or you can smell like “Channel No 5”, all in the jungle? This tour is not just a visual tour with an informative narrative of the plant life and a great photo opportunity.
